How much are safari park fees in Africa?

Expect $40 to $200 per adult per day at non-resident rates across Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. A 7-day trip with five park days adds about $350 to $700 per adult, before any gorilla permit. Fees are per person, not per vehicle; Ngorongoro’s crater fee is the exception.

Which countries are not covered yet?

South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe and DR Congo. We could not read their current tariffs on the official authority sites when we checked on 22 October 2026, so we show nothing instead of a guess.

How we calculate and check these fees

We read each fee in the tariff of the body that sets it and record the amount, date and link in our open data file. Prices are US dollars for non-resident visitors. Verified means read on the authority’s own document; Tanzania national parks are Sourced because the TANAPA tariff page does not load for our tools, so we used a copy of the official tariff.

Park fee questions

How much are safari park fees in Africa?

In Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda a non-resident adult pays about $40 to $200 per day in park entry fees in 2026. On a 7-day trip with five park days that is roughly $350 to $700 per adult, before any gorilla permit.

Which safari park has the highest entry fee?

Among the parks on this page, the Maasai Mara: $200 per non-resident adult per 12-hour day from July to December 2026 ($100 from January to June). Gorilla permits cost more ($800 in Uganda, $1,500 in Rwanda) but include entry for that day.

Do Tanzania park fees include VAT?

No. TANAPA lists non-resident fees before VAT and 18% is added, so Serengeti’s $70 becomes about $82.60 per adult per 24 hours. Ngorongoro’s published $70.80 appears to already include VAT.

Are park fees paid per day or per visit?

KWS, TANAPA and UWA charge per 24 hours. The Maasai Mara ticket covers one 12-hour day (6am to 6pm). Leaving and re-entering can mean paying again.

Do children pay safari park fees?

Usually yes, at a lower rate. Very young children (generally under 5, or 8 and under in the Mara) enter free. Gorilla trekking needs a minimum age of 15.

Are park fees included in a safari package price?

In most full-board safari packages they are, but always check. Lodge rates quoted on their own almost never include park fees.

Why are South Africa, Botswana and other southern African parks not listed?

We only publish fees we could read on the official authority’s own site. We could not open the current SANParks, Botswana DWNP and other southern African tariffs, so we leave them out rather than guess.

Ready to plan the trip?

We design and run safaris, and our quotes include park fees.
